Was a proper tourist again today – well until about 2pm when I crashed out in the hotel.

Up at 6.30 and in the diner 45 minutes later for eggs over easy – a good way to start the day and necessary as we needed to get up and over to peer 33 for the trip to Alcatraz. Like all good tourists we rode over on the cable car and like all good tourists I chose the wrong line meaning we had to force march from Pier 734 back to Pier 33.

Onwards to Alcatraz.  I have been here twice before but I still enjoyed the visit – and it is a national park so that chalks another park up on the list.  The most amusing part of the trip was the obligatory cheesey photo that everyone in line was forced to pose for – I scowled, Nathan scowled and James looked the other way – the result was almost worth buying for the amusement value.

After Alcatraz we rode on another cable car just to take in the view and use up some more of the unlimited travel available on the three day travel passes we had bought.  Actually this was after a ride on a street car (what we would call a tram) on the F line.  These are great – rescued from all over the world (we saw one from Birmingham) and running on regular commuter lines.

And that was me done for the day – just knackered because of the early start and as I keep bleating on about just general travel fatigue.

Actually that was not quite all – I did get the energy together to go and shop some more and came away from DSW with a nice pair of Merrills and also found that Macys has a supply of gripper jams, you know that Calvin Klein item that has been discontinued and that no one has – well I know have eight more pairs and if I see more I will get more while I can.  What, this is important!

Tomorrow is likely to be another slow day!

What I ate:  Curry – in a plastic takeout container but tasty all the same.  Still need to get a curry as soon as I get back home though!

What I watched:  Undercover boss – it is great.

What I listened to. The first cut is the deepest by Cat Stevens.  Seriously – just the one track.
