Where I stayed
Hilton San Francisco
Three cheers for Vans whose Double Xtra mediums are actually that and fit me (unlike other so called fashion brands who don’t like us round people and mark up the smallest of muscle shirts as XXL knowing full well you will never be able to use it.
No cheers for Calvin Klein who have apparently discontinued the most comfortable (if least attractive) undergarment ever made – the now defunct Gripper Jam
We then drove onwards to Monterey to have our second lunch date with Mum and John. It was a town that I had not visited since my border to border train trip I did back in 99 using Amtrak and where I stayed in a very sketchy inn where I was offer "Croy-sonts’ for breakfast. Yum. After working out where to park and deciding whether I was in or not in the right area we met up with the 'rents and toodled up the road from their bayside Inn to the local Mexican restaurant. The vege selection was bleak but what was offered was tasty – as was the deep fried ice-cream. I am afraid Doug you don’t have the exclusive rights to deep-fried everything!
Once lunch was consumed we took the now gas powered Frank off to San Fran dealing with the hideous traffic and Nathan and James dealing with my hideous language as the Sat Nav had a nervous breakdown! Misson was eventually achieved.
And if you think that the blog is getting shorter you are right – I have run out of energy and after knackering up my poor laptop it is kinda challenging to type without my I key!
What I listened to. The World Service mostly – except every time I turn it on it seems to be on ‘World have you say’ – which I have not interest in - want to hear the news not other people’s opinions of it.
