Plan today was to head to Spring Green and take in some architecture. After the travails of yesterday (and I forgot to mention that American had also busted up my suitcase) I was not feeling like doing anything when I went to bed.  When I awoke, however, I was full of beans and ready to get on with the trip.

I really should have taken the time to check on the interweb first!

On the way I called in at a Jewellers in Brookfield to have my Tag battery replaced and possibly a few other bits serviced.  Michelle had warned me that it was a bit high brow and certainly any store that has comfy chairs and couches makes you wonder.  While I was waiting to be served I also noticed that there was not a single price tag in the place.  Blimey!

First stop was Taliesin, the home of Frank Lloyd Wright, where I was hoping to hop on a short tour and soak up some architectural stuff.  Unfortunately it is closed from Oct to May so I was way out of luck.

No matter I thought – the House on the Rock is open all year and is just a few miles away.  Yeah – closed Mon to Thurs!

Still I did get to have a nice drive in Western WI – which was very pleasant.  I passed on shop that made me laugh as it was selling Bait and Liquor – cos you know, that is all you need, right!

I headed early to hotel, where I was rewarded with a huge room and crashed in front of HBO to watch Max Payne – what nonsense, even the presence of Mila Kunis could not rescue that one.

Later I headed out to raid the salad bar at Whole foods and the temp gauge on the Gee-Whiz hit a frigid 9F.  And it is set to get colder.  Brrr

What I listened to.  I quickly tired of my normal stations in Sirius and flicked over to 80s and 8 and a show that was digging up some rarer examples of the decade.  First up was turning Japanese by the Vapours.  I sang this in the Lower School choir for a parents evening.  As the lyrics are a little fruity for 11 year olds the music teacher had subsitiuted the "No sex, no drugs, no wine, no women No fun, no sin, no you, no wonder it's dark" with reference to choc and pop so as to make it appropriate.  Of course what he had failed to realise is the song is about masturbation.  Hahahahaha.  Next up was a classic from Bourgeois Tagg which I have but only on tape – must get that tape to digital hook up sorted!
