So we started today heading down the road to the Alaska Sea Life Center, a working research center with a medium sized aquarium/ zoo. It was pretty interesting, you could see stellar sea lions, harbor seals, all sors of fishes, and even touch some other critters. Then we headed to the harbour and got on a cruise ship for a four hour whale watching cruise. We had lunch, and saw some Bald Eagles, all sorts of sea birds, a sea otter playing right next to the boat. We also saw two humpback whales swimming along an breathing. But the coolest thing we saw was a whole pod of Orca Whales. We started seeing one dorsal fin, then there were three, then about 10, then all of a sudden there were 20 fins!!!!...then one breached and jumped out of the water...then another, then three, then were were watching a dance of 20 breaching jumping Orca whales....it was AWESOME!!!....the boat captain even said he'd never seen and would probalby never see anything like that again!!!...after that we headed out to dinner and then to the legion (only open bar) for a local live band ( who were pretty good, no Freak Show though)
