Sorry Florence, we spent too much time at Cinque Terra so you got the chop. We moved on to Siena. It was a relatively easy train trip with a change over in Pisa. We kept an eye for the tower but it just never happened. What we did see from teh train though, was the mable quarries in the mountains, which is something that is very important both to the tower and to Rome! Anyway, Siena nestled in teh heart of Tuscany, is a very old romantic city, and an absolute pain to get around with the buses, one way streets and italian road rules. This doesnt get any better when the hostel is 3km from the centre of town. The best part of Siena, was definetly hiring scooters and heading out to the Tuscan countryside for some wine tasting! Everywhere you look is a photo opportunity. Doc made sure he spun the back tires of the "green machine" 50cc scooter, he said it was just like the old Yamaha at Dookie, and that there was nothing like the smell of 2 stroke at full throttle even if it was only top speed of 50km. Sim was a little less confident except when she saw the smart car coming straight for her, there was no fear in her eyes because she knew that the car would come off worse than her if it hit. Once again guys, we will give you some great pics when we get usb connection.
