We got Snow, TWICE! Christmas Eve and the day we left Atlanta to return to China. From all reports, it is still on the ground and won't get warm enough to start melting until this coming Sunday, Jan 15, 2011.
This message is for all the 'Global Warming' fanatics, REALLY!?!?
Bing Crosby's 'White Christmas' has always been one of my favorite songs this time of year and for the first time on record since 1888, we had a White Christmas in Atlanta, the heart of the South.
It was memorable for all of us and a real treat for the grandchildren. They'd get all bundled up and go out to play and be back in in just a matter of minutes. TOO COLD.
I got some great pictures of the neighborhood.
It wasn't a lot of snowfall, but was enough to make everything white and clean and pretty. Such a change for all of us in the Deep South.
I know you've heard of the literary tactic of "foreshadowing", well, this was just a smidgen of what was to come on January 7, the day we were scheduled to go back to China.
It made for a memorable trip back to the states.

According to the AJC, the last white Christmas in ATL happened 128 years ago, which would make it the year 1882. Still it was beautiful but now we all have to deal with the icing on the ground and my clinic has been closed for 3 days already. Hope your weather is a little warmer in ZG.
88? 82? George, if you believe everything you read in the AJC???
