The Trafalgar Autumn Colors bus tour begins today.  We're up early, bags outside our rooms by 6:30 am.  We had a long bus ride (6 hrs) ahead of us on our way to Bar Harbor, Maine.  It was a beautiful day and we got an opportunity to meet all of the great people that we'd be traveling with for 7 days.  We began our journey through the vibrant of a New England autumn with a trip up the coast to Maine.  We passed old whaling villages dotted with lighthouses and widows’ walks, the playgrounds of New England’s rich and famous, and rocky beaches pounded by the great Atlantic swells on our way to Bar Harbor on Maine’s Mount Desert Island. Once home to the largest hotel in North America, Bar Harbor has played host to the grand summer homes of the American aristocracy, including the Rockefellers, Vanderbilts and Astors. This evening, we had a traditional and delicious Maine Lobster Dinner.

We stopped at the Nubble Lighthouse, saw the "cottages" on the Maine coast, drove by Walkers Point compound which is the summer home of George and Barbara Bush.

Many laughs on the bus with our newfound friends.  Looking forward to tomorrow when we get to explore Acadia Natl Park.
