After our visit to Arches National Park, we drove to our fifth and final national park in Utah - Canyonlands National Park. The park has several different parts to it, but we visited the Island in the Sky section. The area is a mesa that rests on top of tall cliffs. Basically, when you are up there you feel like you are floating in the sky.

We drove around to several different vistas and did a short hike to Upheaval Dome. Then we watched the sun set at Green River Outlook.

That night we camped out in Canyonlands and took advantage of the dark night sky. At about 2am we woke up and saw a meteor shower! We saw approximately 10-15 shooting stars within an hour, some of which were large fire balls. It was really amazing because while on top of the cliffs we had absolutely no artificial light to interfere with the show.

That sounds AMAZING! I want to go there!
Love the photo of the sunset! My Moon in the picture is perfect! Nice shot!
(I may just take a copy of that photo)

Dude... I mean Renae! You & Dave have to go to Utah to check out the parks... there is so much to do there and it's not that far if you have a few days! I know you guys are rafting down the Grand Canyon next year but put Utah on your list of outdoor adventures to do!

The sunset at Green River Outlook is one of the most beautiful I have ever seen. Maybe one day I will see it in person!
