Here we are in Fairfax! Nothing to report, we just got here. Albert is still pretty sick, so I've been doing most of the driving the last couple of days. Hopefully he'll be able to work tomorrow, because D.C. will definitely be his most challenging office.
The only (sort-of) interesting thing that happened today. We finally ate at a Bojangles restaurant for lunch. They're all over the place out here and we've been curious as to what it is since the last business trip that brought us this way. I was expecting some kind of cajun food. Turns out they're basically just a KFC. The chicken just has a bit of a kick. I don't think this will become our new favorite place.
We arrived at our campground in the dark, but it appears to be really nice. It's the first county park we've stayed at. I'm a little disappointed because they charge almost twice as much as I had expected, and are just as expensive as any of the privately owned campgrounds we've stayed at. And yet they lack the amenities. There is no water or sewage hook-up at the site, only electricity. So we'll have to rely on our water tanks (the pump is LOUD) and use the dump station when our tanks get full. Also, there is no laundry. I don't really mind at all that these amenities are lacking, just that we're paying just as much (actually a bit more) than anywhere else we've stayed and they all had full amenities. Oh well. We'll just have to 'rough it'. (Yeah, right. We still have the rig. We're not sleeping in tents on top of rocks). One cool thing-we have a firepit. This will be the first campground where we can have a fire. That'll be nice.
okay-more to come later! You know, when there's actually something to report.
