Where I stayed
What I did
The trip was all dual lane interstate highway. Mountains were on our right not too far away, and we saw lots of agriculture, including some fancy ranches. We stopped at a highway rest area and had lunch at the Crazy Cow Cafe
Park City is a huge ski area. We found our two bedroom, two bathroom, full kitchen condo that I had booked for $130 a night and wondered what the price was in peak ski time. Today I realised Gracie and Tom really are teenagers as they were more interested in hitting the outlet shops nearby then exploring down town Park City. A couple of hours later, new sunnies for everyone, some Christmas clothes for Grace and two pairs of vans (buy one get one half price), Nikes for Tom and a soccer ball to keep Hamish happy. Time had got away as we had lost an hour some where when we moved to mountain time. The sun didn't set until about 8pm.
We did a lap of the Park City historic area. Beautiful upmarket boutiques and restaurants, it was amazingly busy. We found a Del Taco for dinner close to our condo and for $20 bucks we had a great feed on fresh tacos, strawberry lemonade and hot cinnamon churros. Diet, what diet? After dinner we did our first decent grocery shop at the local Walmart, stocking up on candy for the car, breakfast and lunch items as well as pillows and an esky. By the time we got home it was about 10pm. I did some washing and Dan reorganised the car. After a quick spa, we fell into bed close to midnight. Can't wait to reach Yellowstone so we can slow down a bit.
