Lynda, Lauren and I arrived in Glen Allen by train late Friday night on the 24th, our train was late over an hour and we were picked up by Lynda's sister Babsie and her daughter PJ.

Lynda and I are staying at Bab's and Mac's house and Lynda's brother will soon arrive on Sunday afternoon with the kids from Stanford CT. to visit for a couple days. Lauren will be staying at PJ and her husband Brandon's house with Lauren's husband Jeff who will be flying in from Seattle on Sunday. We had a great time on Saturday we went to the local "Farmers Market" to pick up all kinds of goodies to munch on throughout the week.

Sunday was a lot of fun, Jeff arrived in the morning and then Lynda's brother Jamie, his wife June and kids JJ and Jason arrived in the afternoon. We had a nice BBQ at Babs and Mac's with a fun game of bean bag toss in the backyard. The object of the game was to throw a bean bag and get it into a hole or land on the platform to score points, everyone had a good time with it.

We had some delicious pork ribs, two types of potato salad, pork and beans, macaroni salad and a cake for dessert. We were celebrating JJ's graduation from high school and he requested a chocolate mousse cake which was very tasty. After dessert JJ serenaded us with a few tunes on his guitar, he is really quite good!

Monday morning we all went down to the nearby lake "Echo Lake" where we tried our hand at catching fish. Jason jumped out of the car ran down to the waters edge and threw in his line, with in a minute he had a nice size catfish on his line! Jason is not only a very good fisherman but he has recently taken up the bow and arrow and is quite good at that too. The next one to catch a fish was Jeff, he caught a nice bass which he let go back into the lake, he was the last one to catch a fish.  Later that evening we went out to "Capital Ale House" they had some very good food and $2.00 half pound cheeseburgers for "burger night"!

Tuesday morning early Jamie and family headed home and we had a very relaxing rest of the day.

Wednesday; Jeff and Lauren will be heading to DC for a few days before returning home, we may go out to breakfast this morning.

We received a call from Amtrak stating they had to close the Empire Builder route due to flooding, we had a choice of being re-routed home or get a refund; we chose the refund. On Friday July 1st we flew out of Richmond VA. and transferred planes in Atlanta to return to Seattle, we were happy to be home!
