My second bike ride of the season was a bit longer but it was another beautiful summer day.  I have ridden this section quite a few times now and there were no big surprises although I always have trouble remembering the different scenery. so I tried to take photos of the different sections.

From Fort Plain, you pass through a tunnel to get to the first lock.  There were some geese here.  There are some sections on the road and another section pass the spring water where the bike path is very heavy going in the sand so the little traveled road is actually nicer to ride on.

I passed the Herkimer Home site but there didn't seem to be any activity there.  Then out over the highway to a pleasant flatish section before getting up on the railbed overlooking the Little Falls lock area.  For the first time, I went down to the lock and found this huge ramp for bikes and people I guess.  A boat was going through the lock so I enjoyed watching the process.

The way back seemed much shorter, but now I was a bit more tired too.
