I am dying of thirst...food here is salty too but I guess it helps to drink more
in this heat.

Most of us seemed to sleep in late
this am.  I went off again for my camping gear in a drizzly rain.  All my
foot gear slip on wet pavement or rocks ... which is a drag.  I finally found a camping store and bought thermal underwear and a second mat.  After I found a store, I saw several more and then found out there was another just around the block from our hotels.

It cleared up by
the time I got back with my gear and I headed off by taxi for La Boca ..a special part of
town with brightly painted buildings ' very photogenic.'   It was photogenic and very touristy.  I walked around, took photos and then did a little shopping.  I found a La Boca Juniors football outfit in size 1 year for Theo.

In fact, most of the
buildings in Buenos Aires Centro are extremely photogenic...Art Nouveau.and other ornate styles.. I stop and take photos of all
the stunning doors, balconies, etc.  Lots of the buildings on corners are
rounded... It is just a fantastic cityscape here.  In the afternoon I went to
Palermo by subway hoping to get to the art museum but got a little lost and it
was past 4 so I gave up and had lunch ...I had a Neopolitan especiale pizza chica with wine at the Ristretto Cafe in Palermo.  Muy bueno!  Or something like that.
Dinner tonight was supposed to be a group activity
at 10 and then we have to get up in order to leave for the beach down the coast at 6am.

But it ended up being canceled because it was too late.
I am sorry to leave Buenos Aires...I wanted to take tango lessons but the
logistics seemed too hard once I had the extra chore of having to buy equipment.
I have to make sure that I get some water before our dinner tonight.  I have the feeling
internet access will be more sparse once we hit some of our 3 day camping
sites and a greater number of bush camps.  We were warned that we will have
quite a few very long, rough days but the scenery in Patagonia is stunning and
there will be some penguins....I hope I can get one for Theo.
