Deb woke me up at 9 am to get breakfast.  Only some of the group are up.  I am waiting for Anki to finish my map.  She was soooo nice and took pains to get all the route drawn in for me.  Now I have to get my tip to Mick before he leaves.  We are scheduled to go
out for sushi to say goodbye to the tour leaders,   Anki is going on with the tour
and Mick is going home to Australia for a year off before
going to southeast Asia and China as a tour leader-driver.

Santiago has great restaurants and fine old buildings, colorful
paint and graffiti and ironwork, etc.  I have yet to explore it but we did go
out for a great seafood lunch and chocolate dessert.

In any case, I am enjoying
Santiago.  We went to a very nice restaurant in the Bellavista barrio for lunch to send off Mitch since he is heading home to Louisiana.  We were deciding between 2 restaurants and the waitress at one told us that the non-fish restaurant--her restaurant was Como Agua para Chocolate--was incredible.  It was.   We ate in a lovely courtyard.  I had
an incredible seafood dish and dessert.  We went to another restaurant for sushi for dinner.  I will need to go on a
serious diet back home. I  not sure what I will do tomorrow but there are a bunch
of places I would like to walk to as well as go back to Bellavista to take
photos of the houses and other buildings.

After we left the restaurant, Deb and i went to the pedestrian mall via the subway and walked a bit.  I vowed I would never eat again but went out for sushi where the owner loves Anki.  Deb, Emma and Jill were there to send off Mick.  Anki's new co-driver and some of the new people and other Dragoman leaders were also there.  The others went to  Bellavista for the "Como Agua para Chocolate" restaurant that we had gone to for lunch.  I went back to the hotel but the others went dancing and drank and sang in the truck.  I have to get Deb's video of the singing in the truck.  It is very special!!

I am sad to leave the trip and my group but
will be glad to get home after a few more days in Santiago.
