Where I stayed
Bush camp behind gas station
We started at 7 am and drove until around 7 pm for our first 12-hour driving day. With a 7 am start, we would have to have our tents packed and backpacks ready for the back locker by 6:45 am. We would also have to eat breakfast, wash our dishes and help with the general packing up of equipment. Cook group members would have to be up earlier to get breakfast ready. Along with our rotating cook group responsibilities, we also had other regular assigned jobs. Mine was sweeping and cleaning the truck at the end of a drive day. I shared this job with Emma and Sarah.
On our drive, we passed a lot of sugar cane fields, pasture land and lovely cloud formations.
Our bush camp was east of Campo Grande.behind a gas station and little church. We set our tents up in the grass behind the gas station and then used the restroom; showers on the side of the gas station- the toilets don't have seats but do flush. After we put the tents up in a grassy area, we noticed that there appeared to be sprinklers around. Tasty chicken pasta was served up by cook group #3. My cooking anxiety is building because we're next.
