Before leaving the park we paid a visit to Bar Harbor. Bar Harbor is a really nice small town just outside of Acadia National Park. I could tell immediately that Bar Harbor is a favorite among visitors to Acadia National Park. There were a number of tour buses unloading and many more that were parked. We visited a few shops and toured the waterfront of Bar Harbor. The waterfront offers some nice views of the harbor and of course I took several photos. Upon leaving Acadia we made a stop in Ellsworth, Maine to visit the L.L. Bean store that we missed on the way in. We were now ready to continue our trip up the coast. We made it to Calais, ME by late afternoon. At this point we had completed our trip up the east coast. Any further and we would have been in Canada. We will now travel on route 9 to Bangor, ME where we will rest for the night at Fairfield Inn.
