Where I stayed
2010 U.S. Road Trip – Day 27 -
7/15/2010 – Seattle, WA
Got up early this morning. My daughter
and I ran for 30 minutes on the treadmill at the hotel. After
breakfast the whole family headed for the monorail station for a ride
to Seattle Center. Seattle Center is a park that has several
attractions. The Space Needle, Children's Museum, Science Fiction
Museum, Science Museum, and a mini amusement park is among the
several attractions in the park. After checking out the park's
attractions we headed for Seattle's waterfront.
The Seattle Aquarium, cruise ships, a
marina, and the ferries can all be found on the waterfront. We only
walked a portion of the waterfront before heading inland for Pikes
Place Market. The crowd was larger at Pikes than anywhere else we
had been doing the day. There was seafood, baked goods, flowers,
fruit, and souvenir shops at the market. The main attraction seemed
to be a fish market where one worker on the customer side of the
counter would throw a fish across the counter to another worker to be
prepared for sale to a customer. The customer could also choose to
get on the other side of the counter and catch the fish as it was
thrown.
After visiting Pikes Place Market we
headed back to the monorail stating at Seattle Center for a ride back
to the area of the hotel. We stopped by the Whole Foods Market to
pickup some items for dinner and called it a day.
