We started the day with hot cakes and
bacon prepared on the camp stove. After cleaning up we headed for
downtown San Francisco. Our first stop was the Golden Gate Bridge.
We took a walk across the bridge along with hundreds of other
tourists. We were able to view Alcatraz Island from the bridge.
After touring the Golden Gate Bridge we headed for Fisherman's Wharf.
Fisherman's Wharf has plenty of tourist shops and seafood
restaurants. There is also a beach where we were able to get a
closer view of Alcatraz Island than we got from the bridge. Downtown
parking was very expensive, if parking was needed past 2 hours. The
all day rate was in the range of 28 to 32 dollars. We were fortunate
enough to find a 4 hour parking spot on the street which we didn't
have to pay anything for. We would end our day with a drive back to
camp where we had dinner in the dark. After dinner we started a fire
in the fire pit and made smores with the kids.
