Again, we let Danny do his thing at a London skatepark, while Jane and I went to Burlington House. I left her there and swapped my two separate shoes for a matching pair. Odd socks may be a bit of a fashion statement, but odd shoes is surely a fashion question.
I then wandered around and came across the changing of the guard at Buckingham Palace.  This was not on my list of tourist must-dos, but I was still mightily impressed by the crowds and by how smoothly the whole pomp and ceremony was managed. Danny and I hung around the hotel until it was time to pick up Jane and head to the theatre. Tonight's show: Les Miserables.
The bus from Piccadilly took us right along Shaftsbury Avenue past the Queen's Theatre and into The West End. Everything is so close in this part of town – Piccadilly is right next to West End which is sandwiched between Soho and Chinatown. So we had a beautiful Chinese buffet meal at a restaurant which was as classy as any Chinese place I have been to, but as cheap also. And with Chinese beer – yum. We were still an hour early for the show so we walked around the theatre to a small coffee shop facing the stage door. I should have spotted the clues – two blokes cuddling in the corner, “Queer Eye For the Straight Guy” book on the table – we were well and truly in Soho. We saw some very interesting window displays on the way back – the mannequins were rather more anatomical than usual!
The show itself was stupendous! A smallish stage and very little gimmicky stage business, just great singing, convincing acting, very effective use of the revolving stage, and we were in the second row!  A highlight of the trip for me for sure!
