Bhulebule to Jagat
Long day of trekking today, but that is what we're here to do. We went for about 8 hours, not including our Dal Bhat lunch (Dal Bhat is pretty much lentils, rice, pickled veg. and some kind of curry, usually potato, with pretty much unlimited refills, great fuel for trekking). Up and down some steep terrain following the Marzyangdi river, which we crossed several times by way of steel cable bridges reminiscent of Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom. Towards the end of the day we had a near miss when a large boulder fell off the rock face and landed right on the trail where Holly and Denish had just passed, whew!
The terrain has been spectacular and we're not even in the 'real mountains' yet. Just before reaching the Paradise Hotel we passed by a giant waterfall that that helped generate hydro power for the nearby villages and provided a good photo opportunity. We were able to take a reasonably warm shower and had our dinner beneath some snow capped mountains. The downside is my body is left aching and I have blisters on both heals, I'm going to have to toughen up if I'm going to keep this up for another 9 days.
