Where I stayed
Sawa Beach Camp
Anyway enough of the scary stuff, we arrived at our beach camp and it was lovely, it was ralther hot so the shade and the breeze was really nice, they had a free pool table so I was happy, floor lounges just to read, or take in the view and relax, some lounge chairs in the sun if you want to grab some rays. Next room allocation, well we grabbed our room and it was awesome we were literally right on the beach, no huts in front of us but a couple behind us. A hammock that Katherine used quite offen and the about 8 strides and we were into the sea. There was only one downside to this place. You don't pay for anything while you are there you settle it at the end of your stay. Now that doesn't sound to bad but it is when they only accept cash and this is your last stop so you don't want to really keep heaps of cash on you! But the fresh juices were AMAZING!!!!
Well the first day we didn't really do that much, Katherine read her book, I played some pool, later in the afternoon a few of us decided to go snorkling and it was nice. However alot of the coral was dead which was a bit sad to see but it was nice seeing some reef fish. Had a nice diner that night and then we decided to get the group to play cards, well it was Warlords and Scumbags Egyptian style......Pharohs and Slaves. It was fun and we all had a great time and Ghandi really got into it
The next day was quite exciting for me as in the morning I was going diving! Got picked up early as it was just Cindy and I going, drove 30min and then we were at the dive centre. Grabbed our equipment and headed back on the jeep to the beach. Thats right we were going straight in off the beach which was pretty cool, a bit James Bondish! Well I was first so in I went walking backward and backwards and then I was in, going slowly around the coral taking pics was so much fun. Saw a lion fish, parrot fish, a really long skinny fish and a stone fish, man they are hard to see. After about 30min at 7m it was time to come out :-( Cindy was next and she had a great time too. After that it was back to the camp for some relaxing and telling everyone how we saw nemo and other fish.
Later that afternoon we decided to go for a snorkle again and swam out a bit furth this time, about 50m off the coast. The coral was alot better out there and saw heaps more fish than we did the day before, hmm side note Red sea was quite salty. We had a great time out there but as the Sea was starting to get even more choppy that when we went in we decided to head back.
Later that afternoon we had a game of volleyball it was rather close but the boys won in the end. Had a few more games of pool, had dinner played some more Pharohs and Slaves and then it was time to call it a night. The next day we were all leaving so after breakfast adn cleaning up it was time to clear the bill......what a scary experience, bit more than we thought but since we were clearing out our systems with juices we just had enough money to cover it.....few. After some group shots it was time to board the bus for the final time and then say good bye to Ghandi and the ferry terminal. He was one of the greatest tour leaders and was heaps of fun, Ghandi I salute you.
Anyway time to sign off and next time it will be a new country.........Jordan!
