Went for a ride in the Dunes at Pismo, about 3500 acres of sand dunes. It's right off the beach, which is the only beach in CA that you may still drive on. We rode in a Hummer and it was pretty scary at first when he would charge up the side of a bowl-shaped dune and turn right before he got to the top and then head back down to where you started. But soon I learned to turn that the wide-bodied Hummer does not tip so easily. It was a blast!
