The Stump Jum Plough

Flag of Australia  , South Australia,
Thursday, April 11, 2013

Once again we were ready to leave at 8.30am, we can't seem to stretch it out any longer.  The roads in South Australia are better than NSW and Victoria.  Dual carriage way all the way to Port Wakefield.

Port Wakefield was an interesting town, we went into the old part and looked around then on our way , what we thought, out of town, was the newer part of town.  Like you turned the corner and everything was back into the twenty first century, caravan sales, machinery, road houses etc.  We did pass through Dublin but it was too early for our drive, drive, stop, stop.

From Port Wakefield (whose wharf was high and dry) it didn't take long to get to Ardrossan, so once again we've had a cruisy day.  Ardrossan we discovered is the home of the Stump Jump Plough and although we could'nt get into the museum there was lots of information all around the town when we went for our daily walk.  We did dip our toes in the Gulf St Vincent.

The cliffs around the Yorke Peninsula are reddish clay, unlike the coastline further around.
