So upon arriving to Borneo, otherwise known as Kalimantan, I had to learn a little bit about where I was heading.
Borneo is a large island, consisting of three different countries. Brunei, Malasia, and Indonesia. The island is covered in dense rain forest, enormous rivers, and the religion is predominantly muslim. Indonesia is, afterall, a muslim country. Most exciting, Borneo is home to the most unusual wild life, the endemic Orang-utan, and probocis monkey.
one morning we woke up very early, and took a boat out to one of the islands, called monkey island. there we were greeted by a flood of monkeys. we also saw the floating market, where people would ride their boats up to you and try and sell different types of foods. they could be very aggressive in order to make a sale. The monkeys, would be very aggressive to eat your "sale". We would have monkeys holding on to our clothing, until we would give them something to eat. they would then let go, eat it, and then beg for more. Ah, how cuteness wears out!

some other notes i'll update later:
Jelita, The Sweet Hotel for you! (Gunturs Fathers Famous new Hotel Line)
Various Restaurants throughout the City, including a family owned restaurant in the Jungle.
Gunturs favorite Home, his local school
Traditional Buddhist Temples, watching the sunset, with eerie swallows flying throughout the sky.
Many of the women wore the muslim clothing, covering their hair.
There were very few tourists here. This was one of the more remote regions of indonesia.
