On Friday, I went back to the chiropractor for a quick follow-up. He gave my neck a loud snap and sent me on my way.

Luckily for me, a 14-screen megaplex sits across the highway from where the chiropractor is so I stopped off to view Superman Returns. I give it a thumbs up for the special effects. The actor portraying Superman does not do such a great job. He's kind of boring. Kate Bosworth is okay, but I didn't feel any chemistry. Go see it for the special effects, not the acting.

As a sort of going away outing, a group headed off to the Midnight Rodeo dance hall for a night of authentic Western dancing. We had eight students and two teachers. We arrived around 8 PM. The place has a big oval dance floor, similar to a horse racing track. The music is rather mixed. When we walked in, the DJ was playing "Funky Cold Medina." To break up the country songs, throughout the night we also heard, "Brick House," "Lady Marmalade," "Crazy" by Gnarls Barkley, and that great Western classic "Don't Cha" by the Pussycat Dolls.

I did not participate in the dancing, but it was fun and interesting watching the cowboy couples rotating around the dance loop. Some couples whizzed by at a high rate of speed. It was also interesting to watch the mating ritual of the Cowboy Guido. Unlike the New Jersey Guido, the Cowboy Guido does not wear a gold chain. However, similar to the NJ Guido, the Cowboy Guido wears his shirt with way too many buttons open. And, instead of slick Guido hair, the Cowboy Guido must have a proper cowboy hat. My only gripe with the Midnight Rodeo is that they do not have a mechanical bull. What's up with that?
