Due to overwhelming requests from loyal readers, I shall post more often.

Here's an update on Fr. James, the sick priest from Detroit. Yesterday, the local hospital sent a van to pick him up for kidney stone tests. Today I drove him back to the doctor's office for the results. He does not have kidney stones, but he probably has a gall bladder problem. Based on the doctor's advice, Fr. James is flying back to Detroit on Saturday to get further tests at home.

As a thank you for shuttling him back and forth to the doctor's office, Fr. James treated me to lunch after I picked him up. We at a Bill Miller's BBQ restaurant. I enjoyed a Poor Boy BBQ Beef sandwich (with sweet tea, of course).

A "Small World" coincidence about Fr. James is that he was in the minor seminary (undergraduate college), with Fr. Leo who just graduated from Theological College this year. Loyal travelogue readers will remember that Fr. Leo treated Dallas and I to dinner in Richmond.

After my afternoon class I took off in my car and headed to a nearby mall to take a walk in air-conditioning. Lucky for me, the mall contains an art house movie theater. I dropped in to see "Prairie Home Companion." I enjoyed it immensely. At times I laughed so hard I cried. The interesting thing about the theater is that it is set up with counter top tables in all of the rows. You can order food from a waitress (pizza, hamburgers, salads, beers, popcorn, etc.). Many people ordered from the overpriced menu; not me.

Following the movie, I stopped at a local diner-type steak and catfish place called Jim's for a small steak (with Sprite this time).

From dinner it was back to MACC to do laundry in the pay machines in my dorm room.

En el fin de semana, you voy a visitar el Alamo con mis amigos de MACC. Nosotromos vamos a la misa en la Catedra de San Pedro.
