Today was kind of eventful, this morning we had free time.  Natalia and I went to computer street again and I bought a case for my PSP; I was looking for some VCDs in english or a DVDs for one of the bus trips; but no, we could not find any.  I also looked for some English PSP games but also could not find any.  Natalia found a jacket for herself though, she spent a little more then she wanted to but it didn't matter.  This afternoon we went to the biggest sitting buddah in the world.  Took a boat trip around and took some really nice pictures.  Then we got back on the bus and kept on going until we reached Emei Shan.

We have gone from a really really REALLY nice hotel in Chengdu to... well, the unhappiest room in the world.  Our local guide for the Yangze River once told us that he called the toilets in China, Happy Rooms.  Well we are in the monastry in Emei Shan and we have discovered the unhappiest rooms in the world... I went in the toilet just to pee and just walking in made me gag.  They really are disgusting.  I wanted to take a photo of the unirals that had a funny saying on it but I really couldnt stay in there long enough.  The monastary really is something else...  It's extremely .. basic.  That is one of the nicest ways to put it.  Teh shower is basically a room outside with an open pipe in it... imagine the beach showers in the Gold Coast but with four walls and a roof and a pipe instead of shower head... because it is the off season there are two shower rooms, normally there are more but they are closed at the moment.  It is currently around 10 - 15 degrees so no showering for me in an open air room!  It is also extremely cold here and we have a fair bit of trekking to do in the next three days.  Two days of at least 3 hours walking and Im feeling soooo sick.  I just want to sleep and be home for a while in the warm.  I am also getting so sick of Asian food, I tried to explain to mum that if we had chinese food at home for 2 weeks straight she would be saying, no more!  no more!  But I think she thinks we should be eating Asian food 24/7 while in China.

We are in yet another internet cafe and I have to say, Chinese people are the LOUDEST speakers I have ever heard!  They yell everything!  Only when they are talking in Chinese though.  It really is one of the BIGGEST culture shocks I have ever experienced.  Even Japan was not as extreme as this.  My throat is steadily getting worse and I have developed a worse cough then I did a few days ago, Im not sure if it is the cold, Vivian's mist (The pollution) or the constant smokers around me.  I am missing real life, nice warm showers, NORMAL clean toilets, Michael, my friends and yes... even work.  I've said it a few times but I would love to have the ability to teleport so I could teleport home, have a shower use the toilet, sleep for the night and teleport back in the morning.  LOL.  The only thing Im not really missing anymore is my telephone... The first few days in Japan I kept reaching in my pocket for my phone, but thats stopped now.  This is an experience and we will look back and see that it was a definite worthwhile experience.

Tomorow we are trekking up to the next monastry and then we are staying there for the night.  The day after that we are trekking back down and coming back to this monastry... joy.  CYA
