May 24th - Day 16 - Ghasa (2010 m) to Tatopani (1200 m)
Total Kilometres: 183 Today: 13
Some pretty views today. Still no mountains but was able to view beautiful hills and land becoming very lush and green. Morning walk was uneventful with tea break in Dana. Afterwards the rain began and pissed down for the next two hours of the walk to Tatopani. Absolutely miserable.
My feet are a mass of pain and blisters. Eight different blisters. Two new horrible ones - one on the ball of each foot exactly where I ut my weight down with each step. That, combined with the misery of walking in the rain for the last two days, was enough to convince Matt and I to catch a jeep with Pia tomorrow morning.
That is, until my stubborn, masochistic side kicked in.
Looking at the map, I saw there was only 28 kilometres more to go until Naya Pul, the end of the trek. 28. I decided I would always regret it if I didn't finish that final 28 kilometres on foot. With all the whining I've been doing, I figured I needed to justify it by at least finishing the trek. I've also convinced Matt to finish it with me. Poor guy.
So tomorrow morning we are off as soon as we can. Breakfast at 6 a.m., walking by 6:30 we hope. Somehow I think I will regret this decision.
Oh, the hot springs were lovely.
