It was 11:00 PM when our plane touched down in Orlando, Florida. Despite the fact that we had been travelling all day and 1/2 the night, we were all keen to experience a warmer climate.  With our luggage we took the subway to the main terminal where we easily found the car rental booths. Once there, we discovered that we had to wait until after midnight to get our car or we would have to pay for a full days' rental.  We had rented the car using our RCI points, so a week's rental was only going to cost us 29 dollars, which was quite a good deal.  We had paid for it on our VISA, which also covers the insurance. (Hint: If you rent using a credit card, often insurance is included so you may not have to pay the car rental for that).

After we had rented the car and loaded all our luggage, it was off to find Encantada Resort, which was in Kissimmee.  We had brought the GPS from home (We could have rented one, but why not use the one from home?) and had pre-loaded our resort location onto it which meant all we had to wait for was the finding of the satellites by the GPS before we were following signs and the GPS to get out of the airport.

Once out of there, we soon happened upon a toll both. We pulled in, and were told that the little box on the mirror logged all our tolls so we we did not need to stop at them.  Hmmm, too bad the rental agency had not mentioned that. lol.  Anyway, I cannot stress how valuable that little GPS was in getting us to our destination.  First time in Florida, we are tired, it is late at night, and we found the place without error.  The last road sign was not even up, so we would have been hard pressed to find it without the GPS. heh heh.

Encantada Resort was very nice, although the only way we managed to get in the gate was thanks to another guest who got tired of waiting for me to try and punch in the numbers on the pad as the printed directions at the entrance said..... We drove around and quickly found the clubhouse, drove around to determine there was nothing else open, and then went back there and registered.  There were 2 people in attendance, and after registering, one of them drove a golf cart which we followed to our villa.  "Villa" is probably a good word for our place.  Build like a luxury townhouse set of units, each one has a nice kitchen, fridge, dishwasher, stove, sink, and lots of dishes and utensils.  There is a nice dining table and living room (open concept with high ceilings) along with a large TV / DVD player in the living room. There is a patio door leading to a closed in patio (closed in with screens all around) which also housed a 4 person hot tub.  Upstairs were 2 bedrooms. The main bedroom had a full ensuite and TV while the other one had 2 single beds.  The unit also had another bathroom downstairs as well as full laundry facilities.  All in all, very nicely appointed.  We unloaded and were asleep fairly quickly.
