We were up early (early for me that is, after going to bed at 3am) on our last day in town as we needed to check out of the hotel by 11am. We had to use up the rest of our Yen so chose our last meals carefully.

After one last convenience store breakfast (hotcake sandwich for me, noodles, sushi and katsu for him) we checked out and left our bags at the hotel for one last wander. We headed back to the Tokyo Metropolitan Government building to see the lookout during the day. We went up the South tower this time. You could see our hotel from the lookout. If the weather had been better you would have been able to see Mount Fuji.

Next we crossed to the other side of the station and back into Kabukicho in search of okonomiyake. I've only seen one restaurant in Sydney that makes it so it was a good treat.

Kabukicho during the day reminds me of the Valley mall in Brisbane during the day (kind of dirty and people blinking around thinking "I'm sure you looked better last night").

On the way through the station we chanced apon a presentation of Japanese drumming as part of the Tokyo Islands festival. It was really powerful drumming - I took some video but I don't think it fully captured it.

We got an airport transfer about 2pm to Narita Airport. The bus during the day was even better because you could actually see the landscape as it wound around the suburb and then out over the platformed highway. It was one last glimpse of Tokyo on our way to the airport.
