Back to Bangkok to retrieve Passport/Indian Visa

Said farewells to sister, Diane, who very kindly drove me on motor scooter to the ferry departure office in the next town. Diane returns on Monday 1st to Glasgow. Bus as it turned out, did not take me to the nearby pier, where ferries leave for the mainladd of Surat Thani, the place I arrived from when coming by train from Bangkok. Instead the sailing was from a town further south on the west coast, and went to Donsak. The bus crossed with us which explained why I had got all confused at the number of bus changes I needed to make to get from the port, to the town of Surat Thani, where the overnight bus leaves from. Got into Bangkok at 5.40 am. when the city was still asleep, apart from the odd backpackers cafe near the Kho San road, situated near to the departure and arrival points for airport and tour operator buses. Quite a different place, quite peaceful, while the sun was still rising, and somehow the cup of coffee tasted far fresher than all the others Ive had in Thailand. (soooory, Diane, except yours of course!). Well next it is India. But on the bus trip I had an idea ......
