I spent most of the day by the beach. I ended up running into Sivan so we soaked in some sun rays together.
Sivan went to Mt. Sinai the day before. She told me all about it. I was thinking about going tonight but she wasn't doing a good job of convincing me to go as she didn't think it was all that great. I knew I would regret it if I didn't go although my body was telling me to just continue relaxing and forget seeing any sights for now. My head eventually took over and I finally decided that I would go. It is a historical sight to say the least. Mt Sinai is the place where Moses received the 10 commandments from God.
I am making some progress with my book - Shantaram. The goal is to have it done before I leave Egypt. I should be able to finish it if I have a few more days on the beach.
The language you hear the most on Dahab is Russian. There are so many Russians here it is unbelievable. There are lots of beautiful Russian women with not so beautiful Russian men. The touts even speak Russian which is impressive.
When I returned from the beach, I booked a Mount Siani tour with my hostel.
At 11 pm, a bus came to pick a group of us from our hostel. Included in the group was a Spanish couple, 2 French guys, 2 people from Hong Kong, a Swedish guy (travel writer named Nicholas), a polish guy and, finally, a German guy (Stephan). It was a good group. We all got along.
