My sleep deprivation days are definitely over. I slept like a baby again last night. I think the long hike I did yesterday helped.

After breakfast, I walked around Lake Bohinj. Because it isnt a small lake, it took me about 3 hours to do the whole turn. It was an interesting walk. It took me to some secluded areas around the lake that I eventually found out were quite popular with the local nudists.

After my walk, I just found a spot by the lake around a crowd of Slovenians. I spent the rest of the afternoon just reading my Freakonomics book.  At about 530 I went to grab supper at the local supermarket (again) as it is the only food I can afford here. It isnt so bad though as there is always something decent to eat - mainly sandwiches. I am getting a bit concerned with the amount of bread I am eating though. I should cut that down a bit or else those pounds are going to come back on. But the bread is so good in Europe.

After supper, I went back into town to see if anything was happening. Lucky for me, there was a small music festival going on. A local band was playing some Blues music in a small and narrow canal (that was obviously dried up). The show lasted an hour and they were pretty good even though they plazed some wedding-type music every now and then. I dont know why if they were supposed to be playing the Blues. At 10:30, I called it a night.   I walked back to the hostel which was 15 minutes away. The whole way there I had to stop every 30 seconds to get rid of the small rocks that always seem to get into my sandals. This has been the norm at Bohinj. There are small rocks everywhere!

I am taking off tomorrow. I really liked it here. It is just beautiful and the people are friendly. They seem surprised when they realiye you are an English speaking tourist. They always seem eager to help. I dont think it will be long before more english speaking tourists come here. This place is too nice to not be part of the backpacker trail for too much longer. It has been my favorite part of Slovenia so far.

Tomorrow I am off to Postonja. After that, I will go to Piran which is along the coast. I could have gone to Croatia already but it is too early. My friend Franca (who is now working in France) is coming to visit me on August 1st in (Dubrovnik) which is still over 2 weeks away. It will be great to see a familiar face from back home. I am looking forward to it. So I will see a bit more of Slovenia.

I hope all is well back home.
