We had to get up early again because for the third day running we had to change Hostels/rooms (all about saving the money, which later we just spend on the beer).

We have decided to stay an extra day, as today we found the market which sells really good hot dogs, fresh soups and fresh juices. We couldn't have had only today to look around this lovely city. We came to Germany only as a stop over to kill a bit of time before we headed to Amsterdam. We have now decided to not go to Brussels at all and spend the extra time here. It is a place we never thought of coming but we will be sad to leave. It might just be the beer gardens but we think there is more to it than that.

Our favorite drinking hole is the Augustiner Keller which is the oldest beer garden in Munich founded in 1824. The Augustiner is viewed as Munich's finest Biergarten. The beer is stored in the cellar beneath the garden and served from wooden barrels. Here you can sit for hours under the 100 year old chestnut trees, and think now this is Munich.

Just a note, it is technically illegal to travel in Germany from one city to another without your passport on you. An interesting fact we have learnt about Oktoberfest, during which the population here in Munich jumps by roughly 6 million visitors, half of which are Australians. During this 15 day period so many Australians in their drunken haze loose their passports that a temporary embassy is set up in Munich to issue new ones and help the poor bastards with their hangovers. I'm sure this could only happen on such a scale to Australians.

Back to drinking for us for now.
