From 08:30 we did nearly three hours driving in hazy weather through low mountainous terrain, an early morning market, meat and vegetables on the street. On our way to the Golden Rooster scenic spot in Pingshi. There we visited the JinJiLing scenic spot, a 380 metres red stone mountain range. Not as hard for us as the Danxia, Owen said. The walking was not too long, but there were still many mountain steps up and down. The Golden Rooster mountain is a spectacular view, a mountain shaped as a rooster. Its tail is pointing to  Canton city, its head to the rice province Hunan. Owen: The Cantonese people say that the rooster eats the rice from Hunan and delivers the eggs to Canton.  When I was taking pictures on the top opposite the rooster he told us also that people from Hunan had tried to demolish the head, but that local Cantonese had prevented that. With cement the head had been secured.

In Pingshi we had lunch in a very local restaurant, with an excited family with daughters, all excited as we were the first foreigners in their road side restaurant with three tables. The local guide in the Golden Rooster mountain had said the same, we were the first foreign visitors in  a long time. The reason is clear. If you have only two or three weeks in China you only go to the Yellow mountains.
