The last site to visit was the Egon Schiele museum and gallery. Another pleasant surprise with this 3 level cast gallery in an old brewery building. The Egon had only a small number of his works, but a good history of his tragically short life ( he and his pregnant wife died of Spanish flu in 1918). very start and confronting human compositions which shocked many, particularly the naked girl studies that had him jailed. Three other parts of the gallery with other Czech artists and an extensive Gerald Scarfe exhibition. His political satire is so sharp and brutal, I wondered if he has been sued at some time
Vladimir had booked a taxi to get to the bus station for our 1 pm Prague bus. 'Station' did not include the usual building and lounge, and with the drizzle starting we got a little damp before our bus arrived. Trip was vey smooth and comfortable, wifi and in house movies even on the bus and easy travel on Prague metro to get to our apartment.
Our Bohemia apartments were tastefully notated to suit the 18th century building, and spacious and comfortable.
It was late afternoon and the mandatory trip to Charles bridge which was close by was our first Prague icon visit. The lights were fading but the street lamps came on. Lots of people there to see the views and photograph- themselves with the icon and the view. Buskers, jewellery and art sellers everywhere, but still a great atmosphere. Mark and Ruth arrived from St Petersburg for a happy travel reunion and travel take exchanges that nite.
