Thursday 12th August

We both had a good night's sleep again and got up at about 8.00, had a full breakfast across at the Carriage House and then set off by bus to DHS. It was a very hot day even early on!! We went to Toy Story Mania first which had a wait of 70 minutes or fastpass for 3.10 which would have been a bit late as we're eating early tonight. So we stood in line for 25 minutes (inside in the aircon!) and then we were taken to the front of the line as they needed a party of two! That was brilliant good luck! We had a good game and Dave was delighted to beat me - he scored twice as many points as me!

Then we went to the Backstage Tour. As we were coming out we saw people queuing up to meet Mike Wazowski so joined the line but before we got to the front he went for a "break" and Sulley came out who I'd met before at DLP so we didn't wait. Mike Wazowski's only human bits were his green legs - body/head and arms were plastic!! After that Dave went to see Muppets 3D while I went character stalking! I managed to meet Lotso and Frozone in quite a short time so I was very pleased.

We went on the Great Movie Ride and One Man's Dream before getting ice creams at "Hollywood Scoops" (yummy sugar free vanilla for me and cookies and cream for Dave), and then came back to the resort for a nice cool down by and in the pool. We went to the little leisure pool near our room which is lovely and much nicer than the big pool IMHO. There is a lovely pool and a (very!) hot tub plus loungers, towels, a laundry and everything else we need except a bar! The main pool is nice but so many people and loud!! They play gentle classical music by "our" pool!! We stayed there for a while before getting ready to go to the Contemporary Resort for our evening meal. As I'd arranged a little surprise for later on, which also involved food(!!!), we ate at 5.30 which was a bit early but we hadn't had lunch, just a cookie each in the afternoon. We ate at the Wave which we'd been to last year. The food was absolutely delicious - we both had grilled tenderloin of beef. With the desserts (again yummy!!) and drinks it came to $90 - but free for us of course!!! Dave's going to try to work out how much we've saved over the 2 weeks by having the Disney Dining Plan.

We got the monorail back to MK where Dave fancied a sit down - he'd been feeling groggy and not really 100% all day, probably the result of too much sun. I went character stalking as we'd found out the Princess Tiana & Prince Naveen were still appearing during the evening. I saw that the line was still open - they're so popular that sometimes they close the line before they even come out! They soon appeared and after a while I got to meet them. It was a bit weird as everyone else in the queue had a little girl with them!! They were very chatty and very nice and jokey. Then Dave & I just wandered for a while before going on Buzz where something amazing happened! The ride stopped temporarily right in front of Zurg and I hit a 100,000 target. As the ride was stopped I kept my finger on the trigger and soon reached the top total of 999,999 - needless to say Dave was most unimressed - and I was not gracious in victory!!! That made me happy for the rest of the evening!

There was a dance party going on in Tomorrowland with Pluto, Goofy and Stitch up on stage in futuristic costumes dancing to the music and everyone joining in - it was fun but we were really flagging in the incredible heat and humidity - sweat was dripping off us even though it was dark by now.

Then we went to our "surprise" which was the Wishes Dessert Party on the Tomorrowland Terrace with a fantastic view of the castle and fireworks and as many desserts as you could eat!!! We had a spectacular view of the fireworks and Tinkerbell flew right over our heads - brilliant!

Then we headed home and straight to bed as we were shattered after a busy but fantastic day - I keep thinking how lucky I am to be here in this wonderful place with the best husband in all the world - the only thing that could make it better would be if Martin & Rhiannon could be here too! Maybe one day!!!

Awww I wish we could be there too; sounds like an absolutely fantastic day! The Wishes dessert party sounds like a great experience and all those goodies look amazing - so pleased they had sugar free ones, nommy nommy nom! Some brilliant character meets, very jealous, but you must go back and meet Mike Wazowski too, that'd be a coup!

Yes, it really was a brilliant day!

Sarah, I aimed for the bottom target on the big orange robot in about the third room - it's worth 100,000.
