I came to San Angelo for the first time this weekend to visit my husband who is in school @ Goodfellow AFB for a few months. This is a nice little town. Not too much to do here in town but our little excursions were fun. The caverns were beautiful. So far, its the warmest cave I've been in. It is definitely worth exploring if you're in the area. I got my picture taken in front of Matthew McConaughey's ranch. My husband was nice enough to drive me all over looking for it. Totally worth the drive, plus, the countryside is beautiful. He said he wasn't giddy about it but I don't believe him. Who wouldn't want to see Matthew McConaughey's ranch???

Proof that people hate Midwestern weather: Our cavern tour guide was from Wisconsin and my cab driver was a retired guy from Omaha. I have to agree with their preference of weather.

The only bad part of the weekend has been the flights. My flight out to San Angelo was delayed for mechanical reasons. Going back to Des Moines, my flight to Dallas was delayed for over an hour which made me miss my connecting flight. So now I'm hanging out in Dallas for 5 hours in order to catch the last flight out of here for Des Moines. All in all, it was a really good weekend.
