the past two days in Prague have been lectures and tours around the city through tiny backstreets and some not often noticed spots around Prague.  But of course I have also had the chance to do the touristy stuff like climb the atronomical clock tower and walk the Charles Bridge.  The viw from the clocktower gives a good look at Prague from the Old Town Square.  Prague is really 4 towns that have formed into one - the Old Town The New Town The Lesser Town and the Castle.  We are sstaying just a block of the Old Town Square.  This is a great location for getting to everywhere.

Fascinating lecture yesterday by a women named Barbara Day who was part of an underground group of academics from Oxford that helped hold secrete seminars during the time of communism when no philosophy, humanities, political science type classes not in line with communist theory could be taught.  There actions were seen as subversive and could result in jail time.

Tell you more later off to learn more about Communism and a tour of the Jewish Quarter today.

Weather was awesome yesterday -- low 70's and clear.  I don't look forward to returning in August.
Much more opportunity to do these in small groups here, so perhaps I can make it the last 10 days and still be nice.

Hi Diane, These pictures of the buildings and the square are really cool. I do find it a little strange that the streets are empty. Are there any people in these towns besides your group?

I love your pics, Di! that "dancing building" is so unique! Should I ask how many steps up to the top? The bridge is cool! You can eat gelato all day and not warry about gaining a pound!

I would love to be there with you. I could be the Nice one! Can't wait to hear all the details of the trip.
