Having left LA later than expected we didn't have as much time on the way down to San Diego as would have liked. We did however manage to get a quick look at Orange County and some of its 42 miles of shimmering coast and massive sea-side mansions. A really beautiful, must-do drive.

After sitting in some very heavy Friday LA - San Diego traffic we finally made it to the bustling city of San Diego. Philip was there to meet us, it was fab to have a home to stay in for the night. Philip and Michael's spot is in the heart of San Diego and has amazing views over the city. After a quick bite to eat we went on to what we thought was going to be a few quiet drinks at a near by bar. We ended up at a fantastic nightclub with a rooftop pool and our very own VIP table where many (way too many) vodka and pineapples were consumed. What a fun night and boy did we have the hangover to prove it.

A quick drive across the bay and we were at what is considered to be one of the best beaches, Coronado Beach. I was sold when we got to the dog beach on the other side where the the hounds were having the time of their lives. We headed off in search of some food in the attempt to cure the hangover. After an amazing Italian deli feed we felt a little more human and it was time for Kev and I to get back on the road.

Thanks so much Philip for putting us up and looking after us so well and Michael sorry we didn't get to meet you but thanks for the bed! We look forward to returning the favour when you guys come visit us in London. San Diego is definitely in our top 3!
