Where I stayed
Next on the list was the historical colonial town of Paraty, 2hrs south of Ilha Grande. With it's quaint cobbled streets, plazas and open air restaurants, Paraty's old town was great just to wonder around and take in some culture. We were lucky enough to be in town for an open air concert and got a real taste of Brazilian Beats from 'Nosso Blood' who sounded much better than the name would suggest.
We took a bus to another popular beach,Trindade. Not the most sunny of days but I think our bodies were thankful for the break and it was great to relax with a Calamari lunch on the beach.
Paraty's main attraction is it's assortment of 65 islands and 300 beaches most
of which are only accessible by boat so the next day we booked ourselves on a beautiful pink and white schooner and sailed the idyllic islands for 5hrs. We felt totally spoilt and loved every minute of it, snorkeling and swimming at every given opportunity.
