The Book (Lonley planet which as become our bible) tells you that you will be blown away by your first site of La Paz, and boy were they spot on this time.  What an incredible sight it is seeing this massive almost fishbowl structured city open up before you although you do try to silence the little thought asking how secure is this cliffside metropolis??

After being ripped off by the taxi driver we arrived at our hostel situated in the middle of one of the many city markets selling everything you could think from the now common to us Llama jerseys and bags to toiletries, fresh fruit and veggies, cloths CDs etc etc.  Feeling we were paying more than we should be for our abode, we went on a tour of the city the next morning checking out various accommodations and areas.

Being 3700m high and in a very hilly city this was a slow process with many stops along the way.  Settling on a lovely hotel in West of the city we then went about booking our next
adventure....a not so leisurely cycle down 'The Worlds Most Dangerous Road' (WMDR)....
