We arrived in Jordan at about 9:30 PM and were immediately met by the tour group representative who was amazingly helpful in guiding us through immigration and out of the airport. Amman's airport is the first one where I have had my luggage screened upon leaving the airport. It is not a user friendly airport.

We were driven from the airport to the hotel and the first impressions we got of Amman is that is it a modern city. A clean and fast freeway to the centre of the city and throughly modern and new buildings built our impression of the city.  Our hotel, Le Meridian, blew us away. We had a very nice room in a very upscale hotel.
