Today we are on our way to Kas, a very popular village, on the Mediterranean. Before we leave Antalya we visit their museum, one of the top in Turkey. It has a fantastic collection of archaeological artifacts, ranging from prehistoric to the Ottomans. Arranged well and certainly worth a visit.

Returning to the pavement, we began our journey to Kas. We stopped for lunch at a restaurant that needs to be seen to be believed. Havuzbaşı Şelale Restaurant was quite a way off the highway, down a somewhat scary, winding dirt road.  The cafe's tables scattered out on decks over the rushing water. The meal was fine and it was nice and cool down in the shade with the water rushing beside and under you as you dine.

We had one more stop before Kas and it was Myra. Myra was an ancient Greek burial site, yes another one. One thing we have learned on this trip is that the ancients spared no expense burying the dead.  This place had the graves dug into the cliffs, often quite high off the ground. And, of course, another amphitheatre, the Greeks and the Romans were incredible builders.

Finally we arrived in Kas, such a lovely town. We stayed at the Hideaway Hotel, close to the harbour. We got a nice but small room.

After a short break Ali took us on a short orientation of the town centre after which we had some free time, agreeing to meet up for a group meal in a few hours. Glen, an Australian, and I opted for a beer while Jacqui and Glen's wife, Dorothy, cruised the shops.

Dinner was at Smiley's with a delightful host, relatively good food and an enjoyable experience. The restaurant had a potential wine cellar but he was waiting for permission to use it as it is a Roman ruin. It was built as a cistern but was below sea level and became tainted so the water was unusable.

In Kas, we actually get two nights in one hotel for the first time since Istanbul.
