Boy, did I luck out. Not only did I manage to find a colleague to travel around Europe and work with (Thanks, Richard) but then he happens to have a good friend in the Netherlands who lives so close to the Keukenhof Tulip Gardens that we BICYCLED to them a week ago, and we saw them in their full glory before the gardens closed last Sunday.

Really, this blog is all about the pretty pictures.

The famous Keukenhof Gardens are open from mid-March to Mid-May each year, and are a compilation of all the different kinds of tulip bulbs grown by all the different tulip farmers in the Netherlands.

And it just so happened that Richard's good friend is married to a tulip farmer's daughter, so we got the special grand tour with a family who has been going to the Gardens yearly for the past 20 years at least

So - I took lots of pictures, because the tulips, as well as the special pavilion flower exhibits, were a feast for flower-hungry eyes. And the whole world comes to see these gardens - I have another picture of 20 tour busses that were full of a diverse group of Dutch flower lovers from countries all over the world - Europe, Asia, Japan, the South Pacific - it was like a United Nations meeting in a flower-filled park.

So I want to say Thank You! for a very special day to Arie and Lia Maan, and their 2 girls - Cecile and Yda.

And I hope that all my friends and colleagues are enjoying a beautiful, bountiful spring, with lots of local blooms!
