Finally, when we hit Illinois there is some real change of scenery. The land really started to get more level. Not so many hills around here. There was a lot of really nice farmland here, too. There's a picture of a small church I've included. We passed it going to a truck stop to fill up and stretch a little. It has an elevated walkway leading to it and you can actually go inside. The picture is a little misleading as to it's actual size. I was no more than about 5-6 feet deep and about 4-5 feet wide. As it says, it's the tiniest church in the country. We had decided to find Flash a "chewy" at this point. We both checked out the truck stop and found nothing. I thought that was strange...truckers travel with dogs. But, it was a small stop so I figured they just might not carry anything. I did find a little lite-up ball like thing with floppy rubber spikes so we got that for our bored four-legged companion. It kept his attention for about...3 seconds or so. Oh well, it was worth a shot. I also bought my first, and last, postcard here. I had the great idea to put together a postcard collection of our trip. Every time we stopped both of us forgot...the best laid plans. And now we press on...
