Cusco to Nasca

We left Cusco a bit late, Colin had been working on the truck, he had been putting and taking out the gearbox, apparently this had to be done several times, for various reasons (one was the wrong type, one had different gears, and one was in worse shape than the one he had taken out) so he needed to have a kip as he had finished quite late

We were supposed to leave at 7;30, but this was changed to 8 am, so we all grabbed breakfast and Colin had parked up really close to the hostel and with the amount of bags we all had it was really appreciated

It was all aboard and we set off for Nasca and its famous lines, I had read about these lines and was looking forward to seeing them

Our drive we back up into the mountains and it got very cold again, I think at times we actually got to 5000 meters; we had the usual stops for photos and a pee

The scenery we passed by was really spectacular and all you have to do is look at the photos (which don't really do it justice)

We could see the mountains in the distance capped with snow; there is even a glacier on some of them

We passed through many small villages, they enjoyed waving as we passed through them, I have no idea what they could do for a living at this altitude and distance from anywhere, but there were many small herds of Alpacas and llamas around but very few crops (as if they would grow and this altitude anyway) there were just lichen and a few grasses growing, trees would grow up here

Things have got a bit hazy from here on, but we stopped off at a bush camp, but I can’t remember where (I really should have taken more notes, but as I didn’t, look at the photos)
