The Bone Church

We have left the campsite now and in my view not before time, there were dogs barking most of the night and 'land mines' everywhere (why have dogs on a campsite and not clean up after them ?)

Anyway, it’s the bone church before we actually say good bye to the Czech Republic

The bone church looks like a mad monks dream or night mare, or a big jenga game, (still look at the pictures and make up your own mind)

By accounts, it was a half blind monks idea, they had pilgrims and soldiers who wanted to be buried on holy soil, but they ran out of space, so they dug up previous bodies and stacked them round the church, but then another story is, they were from the plague and as everyone wanted to be buried on holy ground and as space was limited, this idea was thought up, either story is plausible, and it makes a great tourist attraction,( and this village done have a lot else going for it, even the bridge leading to the church looks like it’s on its last legs)

The grave yard itself was really tidy and there were flowers and candles, even if some of the graves were years old, we watched a couple plant flowers and tidy it up it was dated 1931, I guess it must have been some family member (never seen a grave in the uk older than 50 years tendered or looked after)

We are on our way to Vienna now, so even more sitting in the truck
