We both slept well and woke to a bright but chilly day. This SW airstream seems to have been diverted via the North Pole, it really is quite cold. Still, it was a good washing drying day so sheets etc were done and CW festooned, as per usual. We then spent some time planning, largely as the result of last night's chat and also, it’s about time that we did, as we are about to enter uncharted waters (for us anyway).

Our rough plan is that we should be in Gdansk by around 10th June, Riga by 25th June and Tallinn by 7th July. From here we hope to cross to Helsinki and then 'do’ St Petersburg probably via a mini-cruise (cheapest way) and then leave Finland in early August, as we have decided that we will bring the boat back to Fehmarn for the winter (provided they confirm that we have a place in the heated shed again). We plan to fly home a little early this year, by the end of August, so allowing a month to travel back is reasonably cautious but we don’t want to make it an onerous journey, it is after all supposed to be fun!

Planning completed, there was not much else to do apart from some shopping, lunch and sightseeing, which we duly did. We definitely wanted to revisit the wonderful  St Nicholas’ church, with its’ medieval frescos, carvings and astronomical clock (see last year’s blog for photos) and this was the main event for us this time. Then it was back to the boat, blog writing and tidying up and generally relaxing until we went out in the evening for a pizza in the Italian run restaurant at the top of the harbour. Last year I swore it was the best pizza, or at least as good as, that I’d ever eaten and I’m delighted to say that I was equally impressed this time!
