A few years ago I was out on a boat with a couple girl friends on Lake Grapevine. I won't name names, but you know who you are. There is nothing I enjoy more than having a couple drinks with friends while on a boat. A jet ski is an added bonus. Any activity can then go up a notch when you through in an element of "pretend". On this particular Saturday..."let's pretend that instead of Lake Grapevine, we are in St. Tropez." Why? No reason, just because. I had to smile thinking back to this yesterday as I was actually in St. Tropez.
St. Tropez is very nice. Beautiful town, beautiful people, beautiful boats. It was fun to see. However, if you aren't on a yacht there isn't too much to do. I was under the impression that everyone's full time job was congratulating each other on how much money they had. And you could easily play a drinking game with the rule "take a drink every time you see a man wearing a sweater tied around his neck."
The afternoon made me grateful of my own reality with more substance and a "richer" circle of friends.....all while drinking Miller Lite out of a can on the back of a speed boat across Lake Grapevine.

Although I was not the friend on Lake Grapevine with you, I know I love playing pretend. Oh the places we've "been" while playing pretend. I agree about the tight knit, non-sweater wearing groups - they are better. I miss you ! Live it up!
First, didn't you also rename yourself Jennifer? Or Barbie? Or some equivalent?
Second, you have been resaved in my contacts as "Techno" instead of "Tasty". Because I still don't understand where "Tasty" came from and "Techno" is so much classier.
Cen - why oh why did we not do a blog of our "pretend" travels?
Terri - yes you are correct, there were aspects of our day that I intentionally did not include. And just to clarify, "Barbie" was not involved. You may have had one too many.
And I didn't know I was saved as "tasty" -- news to me.
